"AS NEWBORN BABES, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby."
1 Peter 2:2
There is nothing more determined than a hungry baby. Our desire for the Word should be just as intense. God wants us to grow up. He doesn't want us to stay as babies. He wants us to move on to higher places, but all babies must have milk for a time before they have solid food. Check this out:
"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.
Isaiah 28:9-10.... and verse 12: This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest: and this is the refreshing.
We meditate on his Word one verse at a time. When you eat, you take one bite at a time... chew on it a while until you can swallow it.
It takes time to grow up. Look at the dragonfly. They may live in the water for up to 2 years before they grow wings to fly. During this time, you may never notice they are there until one day while basking in the sun on your float, one lands on your big toe.
